Facilitators no longer need to make copies of documents but can now email or upload lessons and activities to their classroom management system, which will save time and resources. Also, the digital format allows for much of the curriculum to be delivered remotely and includes tips on modifying lessons for distance learning. Respecting the Past, Preparing for the Future American Indian students are more likely to be successful as they transition from high school to postsecondary experiences when they have a clear understanding of their mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional selves. When young adults understand their "whole" selves and can set goals, organize, communicate, self-advocate, problem solve, and work in teams, they are better able to address the challenges of the future. Expanding the Circle curriculum is designed from a culturally relevant perspective that recognizes students’ cultural backgrounds, interests, and lived experiences, and promotes a successful transition from high school. The curriculum is designed to help youth Explore who they are Determine the skills they need Consider their options are for life after high school Lessons are designed for teachers as well as elders, community members, or other professionals who may work with American Indian youth.
